BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 2, 2023) – Late Saturday evening, a man died in a deadly pedestrian accident on Niles Street.
It occurred just before 10:50 p.m., October 28th, involving a 2014 Nissan driven by a 42-year-old woman and an unidentified pedestrian.
According to the CHP, the Nissan was traveling eastbound on Niles Street, just west of Barlow Street, when it struck the pedestrian walking along the number one lane in an unmarked crosswalk.
Furthermore, the authorities determined that the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing. The man suffered life-threatening injuries, and responding emergency personnel transported him to Kern Medical Hospital where he later died.
Moreover, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Their identities were not yet released by the investigating officers.
