40-Year-Old Male Cyclist Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Calvert Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 2, 2023) – Monday night, one man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run bicycle accident on Van Nuys Boulevard.

Authorities responded to the scene around 11:40 p.m., near Calvert Street in the Valley Glen neighborhood.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a man lying in the street. Following preliminary duties, investigators say a southbound vehicle hit the cyclist riding south in Van Nuys.

Upon impact, the driver immediately fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.

A witnesses said the suspect dragged the victim underneath their car from Van Nuys to Burbank Boulevard. The victim was eventually dislodged from the suspect’s vehicle upon reaching Hatteras Street. 

First responders declared the 40-year-old male cyclist dead at the scene. Once available, further details will be provided about the hit-and-run bicycle accident on Van Nuys Boulevard.
