21-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Single-Vehicle Collision near Milton-Freewater

WALLA WALLA, WA (October 31, 2023) – Yahir Rafael Melgoza died Saturday night in a solo-car crash on Stateline Road.

Per reports, police began the pursuit of 21-year-old Melgoza near Milton-Freewater on October 29th.

Officers say Melgoza failed to yield to officers and fled the scene. Later that evening, police located the vehicle that had crashed into a power pole, causing life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics arrived and took 21-year-old Melgoza to a nearby hospital where he later died.
