Van Versus Bicycle Collision near West 117th Street Left Man Dead

WILLOWBROOK, CA (October 31, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a hit-and-run crash on El Segundo Boulevard claimed a man’s life. 

Police responded to the collision around 9:15 a.m. in El Segundo Blvd and Broadway, north of West 11th Street. 

Based on the investigation, a van hit a man riding a bike and kept driving while dragging the victim for about a mile. 

Unfortunately, the first responders declared the male bicyclist dead at the scene. Aerial news footage revealed a white canopy in the middle of the intersection where the victim’s body was dislodged. 

The LAPD is searching for the suspect’s vehicle described to be a white Chevy van with blue or gray stripes. Police also added that the van also sustained front-end damage from the collision. 

At this time, the city is offering a reward of up to $50,000 to anyone who can lead the authorities to the arrest of the suspect.
