Mailperson Killed in Hit-And-Run Crash on Bauman Road [Houston, TX]
Postal Worker Died after Car Collision on 243 Julia Street
HOUSTON, TX (October 30, 2023) – On Sunday afternoon a hit-and-run crash on Bauman Road left a mailperson killed.
The fatal accident happened just before 4 p.m. on October 1st, at 243 Julia Street and Bauman Road.
According to HPD, responders arrived at the scene with glass scattered indicating that the victim was thrown off from his truck. When the postal worker turned left onto Julia Street, a 2011 white Ford Expedition attempted to get around.
The Ford driver struck the truck from behind, causing it to flip over and collapse on top of the driver. As the vehicle maintained itself in drive, witnesses assisted in lifting it before it slid into the ditch.
Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries while on his way to the hospital.
Meanwhile, before law enforcement came, the suspect left the area. Witnesses made unsuccessful attempts to capture the culprit. They recorded the suspect’s license plate number and identified him as a Hispanic male.
Additionally, cops contacted the Ford Expedition’s registered owner but let them know that it had been stolen.
At this time, the identity of the victim remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin. The investigation is still underway.
