Multiple Teenagers Killed, Conner Tackett Injured in Speeding Collision near U.S. Highway 82

ARCHER COUNTY, TX (October 24, 2023) – Early Monday morning, Haegen Williams, Colby Cargal and Sydnee Trambell died in a speeding crash.

Police responded to the scene around 2:30 a.m., near U.S. Highway 82 on October 9th.

Officers say Conner James Tackett was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Camero north on Highway 277 at dangerous speeds. Tackett then failed to handle a sharp turn and went into a side skid.

The car then collided with a culvert, leading it to roll over and burst into flames. Medics arrived and pronounced 16-year-old Williams, 16-year-old Cargal and 15-year-old Trambell dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics took the driver to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Investigators say all occupants were not wearing their seat belts at the time. However, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
