Suspect Arrested after Fleeing the Scene of a Three-Vehicle Crash
WALLA WALLA, WA (October 20, 2023) – On Saturday morning, police responded to a three-vehicle crash on State Route 12.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m., October 15th, involving three vehicles in the eastbound lanes of the highway.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a vehicle traveling at high speeds attempted to pass two vehicles around milepost 326.
Furthermore, the vehicle was unsuccessful and struck the rear of another vehicle, which then struck a third vehicle.
Moreover, a total of five people suffered injuries including the suspect. The suspect tried to flee the scene but he was caught by the police.
Additionally, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. The route has since been opened to the public.
Consequently, the paramedics transported all injured occupants to the hospital. Authorities arrested the suspect at the scene, no information about their identity has been released at this time.
Meanwhile, the authorities stated that alcohol or drugs were involved as a factor in the incident. Further investigation is still ongoing.
