Brandon Bencomo Arrested after Fatal DUI Collision on 10 Freeway [Los Angeles, CA]
25-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Collision near Santa Fe Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 20, 2023) – Thursday morning, Brandon Bencomo was arrested after a fatal DUI collision on 10 Freeway.
Police responded to the scene around 4:38 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway, just east of Santa Fe Avenue.
Per reports, the driver of 2022 Kia Stinger was heading west on the eastbound lanes. As a result, the Kia struck an oncoming Honda fit head-on.
Medics arrived and pronounced the sole occupant of the Honda dead at the scene. At this time, authorities only described the deceased driver as a 33-year-old Los Angeles man.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported a 5-year-old child and a 22-year-old woman inside the Kia to a hospital with moderate injuries. The Kia driver, 25-year-old Brandon Bencomo, was charged with suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
In the end, Los Angeles officials issued a SigAlert in the area as crews cleared the scene.
