22-Year-Old Fraser Bohm Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Accident near La Costa Beach
MALIBU, CA (October 19, 2023) – Tuesday night, Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir and Deslyn Williams died in a pedestrian crash.
Authorities responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m., at the 21500 block of PCH near La Costa Beach.
Investigators say the driver of a black BMW was heading west on the highway and lost control for reasons unknown.
The driver then struck at least three parked cars before hitting a group of women standing on the side of the roadway. Responding emergency personnel declared all four women dead at the scene.
Pepperdine University later identified the deceased victims as 20-year-old Rolston, 21-year-old Stewart, 21-year-old Weir, and 21-year-old Williams.
Meanwhile, officers arrested the BMW driver – 22-year-old Fraser Bohm – for suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. Police do not suspect alcohol or drugs as a factor in the collision.
California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert in both directions of Pacific Coast Highway as crews gathered evidence and cleared the scene.
