82-Year-Old Woman Dies in Pedestrian Collision near Buena Vista Street
BURBANK, CA (October 17, 2023) – Tuesday morning, Maryland Charette was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on West Verdugo Avenue.
Authorities responded to the scene around 9:00 a.m., near North Buena Vista Street.
Per reports, the driver of a westbound Toyota Tundra pickup-truck made a left turn onto southbound Buena Vista Street. The Toyota then hit a woman walking in a westerly direction within a marked crosswalk, south of Verdugo Avenue.
Paramedics arrived and transported the pedestrian to a nearby hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries. Authorities later identified the victim as 82-year-old Charette, of Burbank.
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
