Man Pronounced Dead after Rollover Crash near Sudden Road

LOMPOC, CA (October 17, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, one man was airlifted after a rollover UTV accident on San Miguelito Road.

Officers responded to the scene around 1:57 p.m., at the 4800 block of San Miguelito Road near Sudden Road.

For reasons under investigation, the rider of a Utility Task Vehicle lost control and rollover over. The UTV then came to rest on top of the driver.

The victim’s coworkers used a water tender and chain to lift the UTV off of the severely injured man. Medical responders arrived and transported the man to Marian Medical Center via Calstar Air for further treatment.

Meanwhile, crews took two others to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

At this time, Lompoc officials are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the UTV accident. Once available, further details will be provided.
