Isabelle Fernandez Arrested following Fatal DUI Collision on Standiford Avenue [Modesto, CA]
Pedestrian Crash near Sherwood Avenue Kills 59-Year-Old Man
MODESTO, CA (October 17, 2023) – Tuesday night, a fatal DUI collision on Standiford Avenue led to the arrest of Isabelle Fernandez.
The deadly incident happened around 10:45 p.m. in the area of Standiford and Sherwood Avenue in north Modesto.
Based on the news report, a man was attempting to cross Standiford from the north side when he was struck by an eastbound Honda Civic.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the hospital a short while later. The coroner’s office will release the identity of the victim once the next of kin has been notified.
Meanwhile, responding officers arrested the Civic driver and booked her into Stanislaus County Public Safety Center. She was later identified as 21-year-old Isabelle Fernandez of Modesto.
Police charged Fernandez with suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI with a $250,000 bail.
Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
Modesto officials continue to investigate the fatal DUI cash.
