Woman Hospitalized after Pedestrian Collision on West Point Loma Boulevard [San Diego, CA]
60-Year-Old Woman Critically Injured in Pedestrian Accident near Chapman Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 13, 2023) – Tuesday night, a woman was hospitalized after a pedestrian collision on West Point Loma Boulevard.
Police responded to the scene around 9:59 p.m., near Chapman Street in the neighborhood of Point Loma Heights.
For reasons under investigation, a female pedestrian was walking north across West Point Loma Boulevard. Officers say she then stepped onto the road in front of a 2001 Buick Century.
As a result, the 67-year-old male driver of the Buick struck the pedestrian. Paramedics arrived and transported the 60-year-old woman to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Following preliminary duties, police do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be a factor in the collision. At this time, the San Diego Police Department Traffic Division is leading the investigation.
