24-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision near Sunset Crossing 

DIAMOND BAR, CA (October 13, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a motorcycle vs semi-truck crash on 57 Freeway claimed the life of Mingyuan Zhang.

Authorities responded to the scene around 1:45 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Sunset Crossing.

Currently, the circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear. However, reports indicate that the rider of a motorcycle collided with a semi-truck in the area.

Due to the extent of their condition, medics declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner later identified the deceased rider as 24-year-old Mingyuan Zhang. 

Officials issued a SigAlert for all southbound lanes of 57 Freeway as crews cleared the scene. Police did not provide any information regarding the big-rig driver involved in the crash.
