49-Year-Old Man Dies in Hit-and-Run Collision near McDowell Road
PHOENIX, AZ (October 13, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a deadly hit-and-run accident claimed the life of Flavio Ortiz.
Authorities responded to the scene around 1:15 a.m., near McDowell Road on October 8th.
Officers located a black SUV with no occupants inside and a gray SUV with four injured occupants. For reasons under investigation, the gray SUV collided with a black SUV as it was attempting to make a left turn onto McDowell Road.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 49-year-old Ortiz dead.
Upon impact, the driver of the black SUV fled the scene on foot and is still at large. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
