One Severely Injured in Pedestrian Collision near Adams Way

PLEASANTON, CA (October 13, 2023) – Thursday morning, a crossing guard was hospitalized after a pedestrian accident on Vineyard Avenue.

Police responded to the scene near Adams Way and Valley View Elementary School.

According to reports, the driver of a midsize SUV struck a crossing guard in the area. Upon impact, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Paramedics arrived and transported the male pedestrian to a nearby hospital with serious head injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.

Following preliminary duties, officers determined that alcohol, drugs or speed did not contribute to the incident. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more information will be provided about the pedestrian accident on Vineyard Avenue.
