1 Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Car Accident near Dove Valley Road

PHOENIX, AZ (October 13, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, police responded to a wrong-way crash on Interstate 17 that killed one person.

The incident happened just before 4:00 a.m., on the southbound lanes near Dove Valley Road on October 7th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle was heading north in the southbound lanes. As a result, the wrong-way driver collided with another car.

Responding paramedics pronounced one person dead. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.

Emergency crews blocked off the southbound lanes of the freeway near Dove Valley Road during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more information will be released.
