33-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by Sheriff’s Deputy in Bicycle Accident near El Dorado Drive
PALM, DESERT, CA (October 12, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, Christopher Thomas died in a bicycle collision on Country Club Drive.
Police responded to the scene around 3:40 a.m., at the intersection of Country Club and El Dorado Drive near Palm Valley Country Club.
Per reports, a Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy struck a bicyclist in the area. Investigators say the officer was not responding to an emergency at the time.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the cyclist, 33-year-old Thomas, of Palm Desert dead at the scene.
At this time, the California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. Once available, further details will be provided.
