Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Fort Tejon Road Left 33-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dead
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 11, 2023) – Late Sunday morning, a motorcycle/pickup collision on Interstate 5 claimed the life of a motorcyclist.
Officers responded to reports of a stopped pickup truck around 11:09 a.m. blocking the number 2 lane of southbound Interstate 5, near Fort Tejon Road.
While en route, two motorcycles crashed into the back of the pickup truck, ejecting both riders in the process.
Emergency responders transported the 25-year-old male rider from Santa Ana to Kern Medical Hospital for treatment.
Unfortunately, the other motorcyclist, only identified as a 33-year-old rider man from Fontana, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. His identity has not been disclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
Police do not suspect drugs and alcohol to be a factor in the incident. Bakersfield Officials continue to investigate the fatal motorcycle/pickup collision.
