1 Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Kelso Valley Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 11, 2023) – Saturday evening, one victim was killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 178.
Officers responded to the scene around 11:45 a.m., on eastbound lanes of the freeway near Kelso Valley Road on October 7th.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle collided with the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to split in half. The accident also involved a Kern County Sheriff’s deputy, a BMW, and a Ford Explorer.
Responding emergency personnel gave one unconscious person tourniquets to the leg and arm. Another person was treated for minor injuries. Meanwhile, the deputy remained unharmed.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, officers declared one victim dead at the scene. However, their identity remains undisclosed to the public at this time.
The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the Highway 178 multi-vehicle crash. Once available, further details will be provided.
