Car Collision near Chestnut Avenue Left One Person in Critical Condition

FRESNO, CA (October 11, 2023) – Thursday night, a two-vehicle accident on Jensen Avenue in Southeast Fresno sent one man to the hospital. 

Police received reports of the incident around 11:30 p.m. near the South Chestnut Avenue and East Jensen Avenue intersection.

According to Fresno police, a man was experiencing some engine trouble and parked his vehicle on the shoulder to check on it. 

For unknown reasons, another passing car struck the man and his vehicle before pulling over at the scene.

Medical professionals transported the injured man to Community Regional Medical Center where he remains in critical condition, per reports. 

Meanwhile, the driver who hit the man and the parked vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Lt. Henry Garcia of the Fresno Police Department said that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the Jensen Avenue two-vehicle crash.
