54-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision near North Walnut Street

CLOVIS, NM (October 11, 2023) – Wednesday morning, Joseph Sandoval was killed in a pedestrian accident on East 5th Street.

Officers responded to the scene around 6:50 a.m., near North Walnut Street on September 27th.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the area. First responders located the pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics took the pedestrian, 54-year-old Sandoval to Plains Regional Medical Center to a hospital where he later died.

Moreover, the driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

At this time, authorities have yet to release the circumstances leading to the incident, and the Clovis Police Department Major Crash Team is handling further investigation.
