One Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Car Accident near Eubank Boulevard

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (October 11, 2023) – Monday afternoon, one victim was killed and a minor was hurt in a wrong-way collision on Central Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene around 4:00 p.m., near Eubank Boulevard on October 2nd.

Per reports, the driver of a westbound white Toyota FJ crashed into the center median and veered into the eastbound lanes. There, the Toyota struck a white Jeep Grand Cherokee and a black Nissan sedan.

The Jeep then overturned, ejecting the driver from the vehicle onto the road. Paramedics arrived and took the driver to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

In addition, a juvenile occupant from the Jeep suffered lacerations on his head and was taken to a hospital for further treatment.

At this time, speed and impairment were not suspected as a factor of the incident. Further investigation is currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided to the public.
