51-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Banner Drive
LONG BEACH, CA (October 10, 2023) – Friday evening, Felix Castro was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Orange Avenue.
Officers responded to the scene shortly before 7:10 p.m., in the area of Orange Ave and Banner Drive.
Based on reports, the driver of a vehicle hit the pedestrian who was crossing west outside of a marked crosswalk from the southbound lanes of Orange Avenue.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered the victim lying on the southbound lanes of Orange with life-threatening injuries. Police said the driver who struck the victim fled the scene before they arrived.
Emergency personnel later declared 51-year-old Castro, of Long Beach dead at the scene.
