67-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Dead in Traffic Accident near Pecos Road

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 10, 2023) – On Wednesday morning, an accident on Flamingo Road where one man was killed.

The incident happened on September 27th just before 8:00 a.m. in the area just west of Pearl Street and just east of Pecos Road.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the collision involved a 67-year-old pedestrian, a 2022 Nissan Sentra driven by a 32-year-old man, and an RTC Transit Bus.

Furthermore, officers learned that the pedestrian just exited the bus when he started to walk along the sidewalk. Consequently, the Nissan was travelling west on Flamingo Road toward Pearl Street. The driver then veered to the right as traffic slowed down, and he went onto the sidewalk.

As a result, the driver struck a light pole before hitting the pedestrian. He ended up colliding into the back of a stopped bus.

Moreover, the responding authorities transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital, but sadly he succumbed to his injuries and died.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and he cooperated with officials.

At this time, it was unknown if there were citations or charges made by the police. The LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section took over for further investigation.
