Man Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision on East Valley Mall Boulevard [Union Gap, WA]
55-Year-Old Man Seriously Hurt in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Accident on East Valley Mall Boulevard
UNION GAP, WA (October 6, 2023) – On Monday evening, police were called to a hit-and-run pedestrian collision on East Valley Mall Boulevard.
The collision happened on September 11th around 7:45 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the boulevard involving a 55-year-old pedestrian and a white Subaru.
Furthermore, the Union Gap Police Department arrived at the scene and found the male pedestrian on the roadway with significant injuries. Paramedics immediately transported the man to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.
Upon investigation, the investigators learned that the man was crossing the street when the Subaru struck him. The driver immediately fled the scene without offering any help to the victim.
Moreover, a witness followed the suspect and the authorities eventually stopped the Subaru and arrested the 29-year-old female suspect.
Consequently, the authorities booked the woman in Yakima County Jail with hit-and-run charges. Further investigation is still active, and other witnesses are encouraged to call the Union Gap PD at 509-248-0430.
No update ha been given on the condition of the injured pedestrian or their identity.
