12-Year-Old Cyclist Injured in Bicycle Collision near O’Hara Avenue
BRENTWOOD, CA (October 6, 2023) – Thursday evening, a 12-year-old child was airlifted after a bicycle accident on Long Tree Way.
Police responded to the collision around 5:30 p.m., at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and O’Hara Avenue.
Officers believe the driver of a vehicle struck a young cyclist and fled the scene without contacting police. Upon arrival, officers discovered the 12-year-old child unresponsive and suffering from major head injuries.
Eventually, paramedics rushed the injured child to the nearby Dolphin Park where he was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Oakland.
It was unclear if the driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and talked to authorities. At this time, the identities of the parties involved remain undisclosed.
