FRESNO, CA (October 6, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a pedestrian crash on Belmont Avenue sent one child to the hospital.
Police responded to reports of a collision shortly after 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Belmont Avenue and Abby Street.
Upon arrival, medical personnel discovered a child suffering from serious injuries. The boy 10-year-old boy was eventually transported to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the driver and the two passengers inside the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Based on the initial investigation, the child was collecting donations for his grandmother’s funeral when an eastbound vehicle on Abby Street hit him. The driver then pulled over and contacted 911.
