20-Year-Old Female Passenger Dies in Three-Car Accident on Thomas Road

PHOENIX, AZ (October 6, 2023) – Tuesday evening, Bibiana Mendoza was killed in a 3-vehicle collision on 69th Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene around 6:15 p.m., near Thomas Road on October 3rd.

Reports indicate that Mendoza was a passenger in an eastbound vehicle that collided with another car that was making a turn. Another vehicle also struck the vehicle Mendoza was in, causing it to roll over.

Emergency medical personnel pronounced 20-year-old Mendoza dead at the scene. In addition, paramedics transported all three drivers to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following preliminary duties, police do not believe that impairment played a factor. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more details will be provided.
