Alexis Pineda Arrested, Michael Hope Dead after Stolen-Vehicle Crash on West Laredo Street [Las Vegas, NV]
63-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near South Torrey Pines Drive
LAS VEGAS, NV (October 6, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, Alexis Pineda was arrested and Michael Hope was killed in a DUI crash.
Officers responded to the scene around 2:50 p.m., near South Torrey Pines Drive on September 24th.
Per reports, 26-year-old Pineda was driving a stolen 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 on the eastbound lanes at high rates of speed. She then ran a red light at the intersection and slammed into a 2022 Dodge Challenger.
Pineda then ran through a red light at the intersection and slammed into the passenger side of a 2022 Dodge Challenger. The Dodge was occupied by a driver and a 63-year-old man heading southbound on Torrey Pines Drive.
Due to the impact of the collision, 63-year-old Hope suffered extreme injuries before he later died at UMC Trauma.
Meanwhile, authorities booked Pineda into Clark County Detention Center with charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, DUI, reckless driving, and failure to stop at the scene of an accident.
Also, two other passengers of Pineda tried to run away from the scene but they were unsuccessful. The authorities took them to the hospital for medication, and then later into custody.
