Minor Injuries Reported after Head-On Accident near Rinaldi Street

MISSION HILLS, CA (October 6, 2023) – Late Wednesday morning, a person sustained injuries following a head-on collision on 405 Freeway. 

Police received reports of the incident around 11:50 a.m. half a mile from Rinaldi Street exit in Mission Hills in the San Fernando Valley. 

Based on dashcam footage, a dark blue Chevrolet Suburban started driving erratically for unknown reasons. 

The SUV merged to the right to cut off a driver, nearly colliding into a concrete wall. Subsequently, the Chevrolet driver veered to the left and collided head-on with a white Jeep SUV traveling in the carpool lane. 

The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to spin into the center lanes. After a brief pause, the Chevy overcorrected again, returning in front of the Jeep and crashing into the center median.

Authorities responding at the scene reported minor injuries from the Jeep driver. At this time, the identities of the parties involved in the incident remain undisclosed to the public.
