19-Year-Old Woman Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Valentine Avenue

FRESNO, CA (October 5, 2023) – A hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Ashlan Avenue took the life of a female pedestrian, late Tuesday night. 

The deadly incident happened around 11:20 p.m., at the intersection of Ashlan and Valentine Avenue in northwest Fresno. 

Based on initial reports, two women were walking west on the sidewalk when they decided to cross the street. Before they could reach the center median, a dark-colored vehicle hit one of the women, leaving her with fatal injuries.

Upon impact, the driver failed to stop and fled the scene before authorities arrived. Responding emergency personnel declared the female victim dead at the scene. Her identity remains undisclosed to the public. 

At this time, officials are gathering possible surveillance video and witnesses from the scene.
