Two-Vehicle Crash near North Melrose Drive Left One Fatality
VISTA, CA (October 4, 2023) – Thursday morning, a head-on accident on Olive Avenue took the life of one person.
The fatal collision happened around 7:00 a.m. along Olive Ave. and North Melrose Drive in the city of Vista.
According to the police, a Chevrolet traveling north along the 400 block of Melrose drifted into the southbound lanes for unknown reasons.
As a result, the Chevy collided with an oncoming Toyota. Despite the life-saving efforts of the paramedics, the Chevy driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Toyota driver did not sustain injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
At this time, the identity of the deceased driver has not been disclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
In the end, authorities closed down the north and southbound lanes between Copper Drive and Olive Avenue as crews cleared the scene.
