42-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident in Alta Vista Neighborhood

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 3, 2023) – Friday evening, one woman was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Division Street.

Police responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m., at the 5700 block of Division Street in the neighborhood of Alta Vista.

According to police, a vehicle traveling in an easterly direction collided with a woman pushing a shopping cart along the right shoulder of the street. Upon impact, the driver did not stop and fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim. 

Responding medical personnel declared the 42-year-old woman dead at the scene. However, police have not yet released her identity.

Upon further investigation, police described the suspect vehicle as a 2011 to 2015 Chevrolet Cruze. Authorities pointed out the Chevrolet should have a significant right front corner and windshield damage.
