Sierra Miguel Arrested after Fatal Head-On Collision on Highway 99 [Oroville, CA]
Female Honda Driver Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash near Toland Road
OROVILLE, CA (October 3, 2023) – Late Saturday morning, Sierra Miguel was arrested after a fatal head-on collision on Highway 99.
Police responded to the scene around 11:01 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Toland Road.
According to reports, the driver of a black Cadillac Escalade attempted to pass a truck and a big-rig without enough clearance. Consequently, the Cadillac collided head-on with a blue Honda Accord traveling in the opposite direction.
First responders arrived and declared the female Honda driver dead at the scene. However, her identity remains undisclosed to the public.
Medical personnel transported the Cadillac driver – 31-year-old Sierra Miguel of Arcata – to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. Meanwhile, Miguel’s child passenger suffered minor injuries.
Following preliminary duties, police arrested Miguel for vehicular manslaughter. At this time, the Butte County officials continue to investigate further circumstances.
