Rames Gonzalez Dies in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Collision on Mile 4 West Road [Weslaco, TX]
43-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident near Mile 11 North
WESLACO, TX (October 3, 2023) – Saturday morning, Rames Gonzalez was killed in a hit-and-run bicycle collision on Mile 4 West Road.
Authorities responded to the scene around 8:30 a.m., near Mile 11 North on September 23rd.
Officers say the driver of a black pickup-truck struck a man who was pushing his bicycle in a northern direction. Upon impact, the driver of the pickup-truck fled the scene without rendering aid or offering assistance.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced 43-year-old Gonzalez dead at the scene.
Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor. However, an active investigation is still currently underway. Any witnesses with any information are encouraged to call Weslaco DPS at (956) 565-7600.
