Female Passenger Killed in Solo-Vehicle Crash Near State Route 76
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 3, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, authorities arrested Jean Ramirez following a fatal car crash on South Grade Road.
The fatal incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on South Grade Road, just north of State Route 76 in the Palomar Mountain area, per officials.
According to the report, a southbound black Subaru drove off the roadway and into a steep hill. Afterward, the Subaru rolled over and came to a stop after crashing into a tree in the area.
Tragically, responding CHP personnel declared the female passenger dead at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed publicly, pending notification from her next of kin.
The driver, identified as 20-year-old Jean Ramirez, was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A short time later, police arrested Ramirez for felony DUI and homicide-related charges. Additional information about the fatal accident will be updated as it becomes available.
