Four Hospitalized following Two-Car Crash on Convoy Street [San Diego, CA]
Suspected DUI Crash at Carls Jr’s Drive-Thru Left 23-Year-Old Tacoma Man Hospitalized
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 3, 2023) – Saturday evening, at least four people suffered injuries in a two-car crash on Convoy Street.
The collision happened around 6:40 p.m. on the 3800 block of Convoy Street at a Carl’s Jr., in the Kearny Mesa neighborhood.
According to the police, a northbound Toyota Tacoma on Kearny Mesa Road hit the curb for unknown reasons and went airborne.
Subsequently, the Tacoma landed on a Honda sedan resting at a drive-thru window of Carl’s Jr.
Responding emergency personnel rushed the Tacoma driver to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries. He was only identified as a 23-year-old man from Tacoma.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 40-year-old female Honda driver, and her two elderly passengers to a hospital for various injuries.
The San Diego Police Department Traffic Division believed that the Tacoma driver was under the influence at the time of the crash. Local authorities encourage anyone with additional information regarding the Convoy Street two-vehicle crash to contact them as soon as possible.
