49-Year-Old Victim Dies in Speeding Car Accident near Gates Road

MODESTO, CA (September 29, 2023) – Thursday morning, Wyatt Gordon was arrested after a fatal speeding crash on Highway 132.

Police responded to the scene around 7:31 a.m., just west of Gates Road.

Per reports, Gordon was driving a Lexus sedan at a high rate of speed and veered left. The Lexus then crossed into westbound traffic where it struck a Hyundai sedan.

Upon impact, the Lexus overturned into a nearby field just north of Highway 132.

Medics arrived and pronounced a 64-year-old woman and a 67-year-old woman from inside the Hyundai dead at the scene. Paramedics also airlifted a third woman who was pinned inside the Hyundai to a nearby hospital where she later died.

Following preliminary duties, officers determined that Gordon was under the influence of alcohol. As a result, officers arrested him.

No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Our deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of the deceased women.
