Double Vehicle Crash Along Highway 84 Resulted in Injuries
NEWARK, CA (September 29, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, a rollover crash on Dumbarton Bridge left at least two people with injuries.
Around 5:39 a.m., an eastbound Ford pickup truck collided with a concrete divider and rolled over.
Subsequently, a second vehicle attempted to hit the brakes to avoid collision with the Ford. However, the driver lost control and hit the pickup, leaving them with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford pickup truck suffered serious head injuries from the crash but is expected to recover.
At this time, the identities of the parties involved in the incident have not been disclosed to the public.
In the end, the California Highway Patrol closed all lanes of Highway 84 at Dumbarton Bridge as crews cleared out the gravel spill. The roadway has since been reopened to the public.
The CHP continues to investigate the circumstances that led up to the first crash.
