Martin Salas-Gallegos Arrested after DUI Crash near 16th Street
ECTOR COUNTY, TX (September 29, 2023) – Friday night, a DUI collision at FM 372 claimed the life of Ismael Martinez Jr.
The incident happened on September 8th, at around 11:00 a.m., at FM 3472 near 16th Street.
According to reports, a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Martin Salas-Gallegos, was crossing multiple lanes going westbound when it hit a 2004 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The motorcyclist is identified as 57-year-old Ismael Martinez Jr.
The impact caused the biker to be flung off the road, and Martinez was then struck by a Chrysler 300 being driven by a 17-year-old as he lay on the road. Martinez died on the spot.
Meanwhile, responders transported Salas-Gallegos to Medical Center Hospital and later released into police custody. Later, after being charged with manslaughter, he got out after posting a $125,000 bond.
Furthermore, police said that driving under the influence caused the collision. The investigation is still ongoing.
