65-Year-Old Man Killed in Auto Accident near Mile Marker 325
LORENA, TX (September 28, 2023) – Saturday night, a car collision on Interstate 35 left four people injured and killed Virgilio Sibayan.
Per initial reports, the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on September 9th, on IH-35 northbound near mile marker 325.
According to DPS, while GMC Yukon was traveling, the driver experienced a medical emergency and lost control of the car, which caused it to veer off the road and onto a service road where it collided with a Chevrolet Silverado before flipping over.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 65-year-old Sibayan dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver and three other occupants of the GMC Yukon only sustained moderate injuries.
Authorities determined that seatbelts were not worn, which caused passengers to be thrown. An active investigation is still currently underway.
