35-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Motorcycle Collision near Pyramid Way

SPARKS, NV (September 28, 2023) – Tuesday morning, Robert Ortiz was killed in a motorcycle accident on Victorian Avenue.

Police responded to the scene around 6:38 p.m., at the 900 block of Victorian Avenue near Pyramid Way.

Officers say Ortiz was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a turn. As a result, the motorcycle struck the curb, ejecting Ortiz onto the shoulder of the road.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medical personnel pronounced 35-year-old Ortiz dead at the scene.

Following preliminary duties, officers attempted to locate two drivers who were in the area, a 2000s blue Dodge four-door truck and a 2000s white single-cab Chevrolet pickup-truck.
