Douglas Hunt Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision on Loop 202 [Phoenix, AZ]
34-Year-Old Man Killed in Good Samaritan Accident near 32nd Street
PHOENIX, AZ (September 28, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Douglas Hunt was fatally struck while trying to help others on Loop 202.
Shortly before 4:00 a.m., a collision occurred on Loop 202 near 32nd Street. Two bystanders then stopped to help those in need.
For reasons under investigation, the driver of a passing vehicle then struck 34-year-old Hunt, of Mesa. Paramedics arrived and transported Hunt to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
In addition, multiple vehicles were involved and several occupants were injured, including a 5-month-old baby.
Following preliminary duties, authorities believe impairment was a possible factor. However, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
Hunt will be deeply missed by his community, and will be remembered for his tremendous acts of service towards strangers.
