Two Pronounced Dead after Red-Light Collision near Northern Avenue

GLENDALE, AZ (September 28, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, Alaina Gallegos and Eliseo Ochoa were killed in a red-light crash on 47th Avenue.

Police responded to the scene around 4:00 a.m., near Northern Avenue.

Officers say the driver of a vehicle was traveling at high speeds and ran a red light at the intersection. There, the speeding vehicle crashed into another car before coming to rest on Apollo High School property grounds, causing damage to its fence.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 34-year-old Gallegos and 32-year-old Ochoa dead. Meanwhile, another victim suffered minor injuries.
