Pickup Versus Pedestrian Collision on Highway 120 near Jack Tone Road Left One Person Dead

MANTECA, CA (September 25, 2023) – Early Wednesday morning, a person was killed in a pedestrian collision on Highway 120. 

The incident occurred at around 4:23 a.m. along the westbound Highway 120, just east of Jack Tone Road. 

According to reports, a man was walking in the area when he was struck by a pickup truck. The impact of the collision left the pedestrian with serious injuries.

Responding emergency personnel declared the male pedestrian deceased at the scene.

At this time, it was unclear whether the driver of the pickup stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, alcohol and drugs did not play a factor in the collision. Officials closed down Highway 120 between Jack Tone and Ripon Roads as crews investigated the scene.
