Multiple People were Injured Including Firefighters in Truck Accident on Wier Avenue near 40th Street

PHOENIX, AZ (September 25, 2023) – Late Monday morning, a fire truck and a flatbed truck were involved in a truck accident on Wier Avenue.

The incident happened on September 18th, just after 11:30 a.m., a firefighter vehicle was on its way to respond to an emergency headed eastbound on Wier Avenue.

While the firefighter vehicle responded to an incident, a flatbed delivery truck in the area collided with it, near the intersection of 40th Street and Roeser Road. The impact of the collision left four firefighters and the driver of the flatbed injured.

Following the collision, paramedics transported all the victims to a local hospital for treatment of varying injuries.

Additionally, the collision punctured the gas tank of the flatbed, but crews immediately sealed the tank to lessen the spill. They also made efforts to clear out the scene.

The Phoenix Police Department has not released any further information regarding the truck accident on Wier Avenue. An active investigation is currently underway.
