41-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in DUI Collision near CR 2260

WOOD COUNTY, TX (September 21, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, Moises Joribio was killed in a DUI crash on Highway 69.

Around 3:50 p.m., the incident took place about three miles north of Mineola near CR 2260.

Per reports, 25-year-old Lee was driving northwest in a Ford Explorer when he rear-ended a Toyota Camry that yielded for slow traffic ahead.

Paramedics arrived and pronounced the Toyota driver, 41-year-old Joribio dead at the scene. Meanwhile, crews took his passenger, 29-year-old Jesus Beltran to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Investigators say both of the Toyota occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time.

Following preliminary duties, officers suspected that the Ford driver, 25-year-old Maxwell Lee was intoxicated. Officers charged him with intoxication manslaughter before booking him into the Wood County Jail with bond set at $100,00.
