Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle near I-10
PHOENIX, AZ (September 21, 2023) – Sunday evening, a hit-and-run collision near Interstate 10 and 7th Street killed Magellan Rutaneahwa.
It occurred around 7:30 p.m., September 10th, when a man walking along the area was struck by a vehicle.
Furthermore, the authorities arrived at the scene and found the man unconscious with serious injuries.
Shortly after, the authorities pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene due to the extent of their injuries. The identity of the deceased was not yet released by the deputies.
Moreover, the suspect immediately fled the scene upon hitting the pedestrian. Their whereabouts are currently unknown and police have launched an active investigation.
Consequently, the authorities blocked the area for several hours to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. The roadway has since been reopened.
