Female Driver Killed in Fiery Auto Collision on Highway 580 [Oakland, CA]

Woman Pronounced Dead after Fiery Car Accident near Beaumont Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (September 21, 2023) – Late Tuesday morning, one female driver was killed in a fiery auto collision on Highway 580.
Authorities responded to the scene around 11:00 a.m., near the Beaumont Avenue overpass.
Per reports, the driver of a white Chevrolet Trailblazer struck a Chevrolet Bolt, driven by a 44-year-old woman. The Volt then came to rest in the center divider while the Trailblazer was stopped on the right shoulder.
In addition, one of the involved vehicles became engulfed in flames. Responding Oakland firefighters managed to extricate both female drivers from their vehicles and extinguish the flames.
Eventually, paramedics transported both women to a hospital where one of them later died. At this time, the identities of the parties involved have not been disclosed to the public.
Around 11:16 a.m., officials issued a SigAlert in the area closing down all the eastbound lanes of Highway 580. Those with additional information regarding the fiery crash are encouraged to contact the Oakland CHP office at 510-457-2875.
